After graduating
from the University of Notre Dame in 1982 with a B.S. in Electrical
Engineering, Mike Schacht worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation
for four years as a field engineer, specializing in airborne electronic
warfare systems.
Mike entered Seattle
University School of Law and graduated cum laude in 1989. He was
registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
in 1989.
After graduation,
Mike worked for one year at Adachi International Patent Attorney,
a Japanese patent law firm located in Nagoya, Japan and was admitted
to the District of Columbia Bar in 1990.
Mike was admitted
to the Washington State Bar in 1991 after his return to the United
States.

A
native of Bellingham, Washington, Mike has returned to his hometown
to live with his wife Lila and their sons James, Erik, and Stefan.
Mike is on the board
of directors of the Whatcom County Chapter of the American Red Cross
and the Bellingham Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom
County.
Mike enjoys working
with children and, over the last eight years, has coached numerous
youth baseball, basketball, soccer, and Math Olympiad teams.
